A waitress in a busy restaurant is responsible for greeting guests, taking accurate food and drink orders, delivering meals and beverages, handling payments, and ensuring a pleasant dining experience for all customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome guests, present menus, and answer inquiries about menu items or daily specials.
- Take and relay food and drink orders to kitchen and bar staff, noting special requests and dietary requirements.
- Serve food and beverages efficiently while maintaining proper presentation.
- Check in with guests during service, refill drinks, and respond to additional requests promptly.
- Process payments accurately using POS systems, handle cash/card transactions, and provide bills.
- Set and reset tables, keep the dining area tidy, and help with cleaning duties.
- Anticipate guest needs, resolve complaints professionally, and promote customer loyalty through excellent service.
