IT Assistant – Almana Group

JOB PURPOSE: 

To ensure the smooth operation of computer systems, networks, and IT infrastructure at Almana Exchange. This role supports the organization by maintaining IT systems, resolving technical issues, and enhancing cybersecurity measures to contribute to operational efficiency and data security.

KEY RESULTS AREAS / DELIVERABLES & KEY ACTIVITIES:

IT HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE SUPPORT

Ensure the seamless operation and maintenance of all hardware and software systems within the organization.

  • Troubleshoot and manage desktops, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment.
  • Provide support for Microsoft Office Suite, email clients (Outlook, etc.), and other office productivity tools.
  • Perform routine maintenance and upgrades for hardware and software.
  • Ensure proper documentation of technical issues and their resolutions.

 

NETWORKING SUPPORT

Maintain and troubleshoot the organization’s network infrastructure to ensure uninterrupted connectivity.

  • Support LAN, WAN, and VPN configurations.
  • Manage and troubleshoot routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Identify and resolve network performance issues promptly.
  • Assist in the implementation of network security measures.

 

DATABASE AND BACKUP MANAGEMENT

Ensure the reliability and security of company data through effective database and backup management.

  • Manage access permissions for databases and handle basic queries.
  • Perform regular data backups and ensure successful recovery procedures.
  • Develop and implement disaster recovery protocols and tools.

 

CYBERSECURITY AND DATA PROTECTION

Safeguard the organization’s digital assets against threats by implementing cybersecurity best practices.

  • Monitor and maintain firewalls and antivirus systems.
  • Educate staff on cybersecurity protocols and safe practices.
  • Conduct periodic security audits and address vulnerabilities.

END-USER SUPPORT

Provide efficient and user-friendly IT support to all employees.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for resolving IT-related issues.
  • Explain technical problems in a clear and understandable manner to non-technical staff.
  • Train employees on the use of IT systems and software as needed.

FINANCIAL SECTOR-SPECIFIC IT SUPPORT

Align IT services with the unique requirements of the financial exchange sector.

  • Provide technical support for financial or trading software systems.
  • Ensure compliance with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) rules in IT operations.
  • Collaborate with accounts teams to ensure smooth integration of IT and financial operations.
