Category Manager – The Blue Group

Buying & Planning:

  • Select market-relevant articles from the Global Brand range, categorized by store grades (BCS/OCS/SC/ECOM).
  • Drive category positioning and presentation across all distribution channels.
  • Attend major sales meetings to optimize product mix, including key brand launches.
  • Collaborate with marketing on seasonal calendars and key product launches.
  • Plan and forecast sales, identifying opportunities and risks.
  • Manage budgeting and open-to-buy calculations for categories.
  • Create and adjust pre-season and in-season matrices with the merchandiser.

Trading:

  • Lead marketing campaigns focused on product.
  • Regularly monitor stock levels to ensure availability of best sellers.
  • Manage in-season trading and pricing strategies (promotions, markdowns).
  • Work with HR to train sales associates on product knowledge and campaigns.
  • Analyze reports and propose efficiency improvements.

Projects:

  • Drive cross-functional projects to enhance business performance.
  • Clear old stock with a focus on maximizing margins.
  • Initiate new process creation.
