Maintenance Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our dynamic team in Doha, Qatar, focused on park facilities, urban planning, and management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing maintenance operations within park facilities, ensuring that all equipment and public spaces are operating efficiently, safely, and are aesthetically pleasing. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a strong commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety in urban environments. The Maintenance Supervisor will lead a team of technicians, coordinating their activities to ensure timely and effective maintenance tasks are completed, while also engaging with the community to address their needs and concerns. The successful candidate will also develop and implement preventive maintenance programs, manage budgets, and work closely with other departments to support operational goals and enhance the overall user experience in urban parks.

Responsibilities:

1. Supervise and coordinate daily maintenance activities for park facilities to ensure cleanliness, safety, and operational efficiency.
2. Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for park equipment, landscaping, and recreational facilities to minimize downtime and enhance user experience.
3. Conduct regular inspections and assessments of park facilities to identify maintenance needs and prioritize tasks based on community feedback and usage patterns.
4. Lead and mentor a team of maintenance technicians, providing training and support to enhance their skills and performance in urban park management.
5. Manage maintenance budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions while maintaining high-quality standards in park facilities.
6. Collaborate with urban planning teams and other departments to plan and execute maintenance projects that align with community objectives and enhance park usability.
7. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, implementing policies and procedures to promote a safe environment for park visitors and staff.
8. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inventory, and equipment history, to ensure transparency and accountability.
9. Respond to emergency maintenance requests promptly, troubleshooting issues effectively to minimize disruptions in park services.
10. Continuously evaluate and improve maintenance processes to enhance efficiency, sustainability, and user satisfaction in urban parks.

Preferred Candidate:

1. Proven experience as a Maintenance Supervisor or in a similar role within park facilities or urban management.
2. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team in a public service environment.
3. Excellent problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to maintenance challenges in urban settings.
4. In-depth knowledge of maintenance management systems, landscaping, and park facility operations.
5. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of quality in service delivery.
6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with community members and stakeholders.
7. Detail-oriented with a focus on safety, compliance, and environmental sustainability standards.
8. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and maintenance management software relevant to urban planning.
9. Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed to accommodate park activities.
10. Relevant certifications in maintenance management, landscaping, or urban planning are a plus.
