Business Development Manager – Almana Group
JOB PURPOSE:
Responsible for generating new and returning business to the division, developing good customer relationships which in turn will contribute to the growth profit and sales targets.
KEY RESULTS AREAS / DELIVERABLES & KEY ACTIVITIES:
1.) BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Manage the business development and market intelligence processes in order to facilitate continuous growth in terms of revenue and profit.
- Act as Company representative and brand expert, prepare reports on competitor products and services, its prices and other quality information.
- Analyze customer demands and market trends relevant to the Divisions’ scope of work in order to expand our brand partners current product range.
- Carry out surveys / research on customer satisfaction to identify scope for improvements in products and service delivery.
- Maintain an awareness of developments in the fields of product marketing and research to ensure that the company continues to compete effectively.
- Take part in exhibitions and fairs to help assess current product lines and market trends.
- Manage the sourcing of new customers in the local market in order to reach or exceed the showroom sales targets, project leads target and ensure the successful contract compleition with the creative team
- Oversee the merchandising displays of the products in the showroom space to ensure visibility of products for better sales.
- Be knowledgeable and up to date about the Division’s standards, practices and processes in order to provide realistic information and timelines to the customer.
- Develop and maintain a Customer database to ensure availability of relevant information for future reference.
- Conduct periodic visits to new and existing Customers to explore potential opportunities for new or existing solutions and services offered by the Division or follow up on their existing inquiries.
- Expand and grow the divisions active customer network and database
2.) RELATIONSHIP BUILDING
Manage the relationships with different stakeholders (suppliers, customers etc.,) to ensure the continual development and utilization of any present or future business opportunities.
- Develop a Customer Service Survey system to monitor and measure Customer Satisfaction; Provide Results, with recommendations, for Management’s reference and action to identify scope of improvements in product quality and service delivery.
- Conduct customer visits on a periodic basis to develop and maintain a professional connection while reviewing potential sales and business development opportunities which are turned into new projects and leads for the creative team.
- Continually maintain communication with new and existing customers and suppliers to maintain rapport and positive relationship.
- Ensure utmost collaboration with the Creative Team in order to maximize the opportunities from the newly sourced customers.
3.) CUSTOMER SERVICE / HOSPITALITY
Oversee the delivery of Customer Service and Hospitality to all Customers and Visitors coming into the showroom to provide a positive experience resulting to potential sales.
- Ensure all new walk in clients are contacted personally within 24 hours of visiting the showroom and be the first point of contact for all walk-ins when present in the showroom. Ensure all questions and queries are answered through up to date product knowledge.
- Resolve Visitors and Customer complaints and issues timely and within the satisfaction of all parties.
- Entertain visitors and customers and respond to their inquiries and request for a more positive experience in the showroom.
- Oversee the deliveries of the requested product / stock to the Customer in accordance to the quotation / agreement in order to meet and exceed Customer needs and expectations.
- Inform Visitors / Customers on new stocks / products and any showroom promotions in order to induce them to come to the Showroom and buy the Division’s products and solutions.
- Oversee the setup of the different products, from time to time, in order to maximize the product’s promotion, provide customers different changing perspective of the showroom, resulting to higher probability of sales.
- In coordination with the General Manager and Creative Head plan and oversee the setup of new products for display in the showroom in order to facilitate its sales and promotion.
- Ensure that the different Brand’s standards and visual guidelines are implemented in the showroom.
- Build and maintain relationships with visitors and customers in order to timely obtain opportunities to sell products and solutions upon their inquiry / demand.
4.) REPORTS
Prepare and submit the Business Development reports to Management for their reference and decision making.
- Monitor, analyze and report on competitor activities in order to recommend solutions to help the company’s product lines.
- Survey and report on customer satisfaction to identify scope of improvements in product quality and service delivery.
- Prepare reports on lead generating campaigns, identify those that have been successful and ways to improve for future use
- Prepare other reports, as and when required, by the management.
5.) AD HOC PROJECTS & ACTIVITIES
Carry out Ad Hoc Projects & Activities, as and when instructed by the Line Manager, and achieve the defined deliverables.
- Carry out ad hoc projects, tasks or activities that are not listed in the job description but are necessary for the success of the business.
- Act as account manager on certain projects such as those relating to furniture only or that the BDM has a very close working relationship with
- Serve as vacation replacement for vital tasks / activities
