Utilities Specialist Supervisor – Boiler & Steam Generation
The role will provide technical leadership and day-to-day supervision of critical boiler and steam generation systems supporting processing, manufacturing, and plant utilities operations.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise boiler house and steam generation operations and maintenance activities.
- Ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of boilers, burners, feedwater systems, deaerators, economizers, steam headers, condensate return, and steam distribution systems.
- Ensure compliance with PSSR, statutory inspections, written schemes of examination, pressure systems requirements, and safety standards.
- Lead preventive and predictive maintenance activities for boilers, burners, steam systems, safety valves, steam traps, and associated equipment.
- Monitor boiler performance, steam pressure, fuel consumption, water quality, blowdown, combustion efficiency, and condensate recovery.
- Troubleshoot boiler, burner, feedwater, steam, and control system issues and ensure timely corrective actions.
- Lead and coach utilities and boiler technicians, ensuring accountability, technical development, and adherence to safe working practices.
- Manage PTW, LOTO, contractor activities, shutdowns, inspections, and emergency response readiness.
- Maintain accurate boiler logbooks, maintenance records, inspection documentation, and utilities KPI reports through CMMS/SAP PM.
- Identify opportunities to improve steam generation efficiency, reduce fuel and water consumption, minimize steam losses, and improve equipment reliability.
- Support critical spares planning, RCA, FMEA/RCM activities, OEM service coordination, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree or Technical Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Utilities Engineering, Boiler Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 8–12 years of experience in industrial boiler house operations, steam generation, utilities maintenance, or process heating.
- Minimum 3–5 years of supervisory or team leadership experience in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
- Experience in food & beverage, dairy, FMCG, pharmaceutical, or similar manufacturing industries is preferred.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of industrial boilers, burners, steam systems, feedwater, condensate recovery, water treatment, and boiler controls.
- Good knowledge of PSSR, pressure systems, statutory inspections, written schemes, and boiler safety requirements.
- Experience with SCADA/PLC and CMMS/SAP PM is an advantage.

- Saacke
- Other equivalent industrial boiler and steam system platforms
BOAS or equivalent boiler operation training, NEBOSH/IOSH, boiler water treatment, combustion, and pressure systems training will be highly advantageous.
