Planning Engineer
Develop project initiation programmes covering all stages of the development lifecycle.
Develop and maintain an integrated project progress control system covering all project phases.
Prepare detailed planning programmes and execution plans for each stage of project development.
Effectively present project programmes, schedules, and plans to project stakeholders.
Review supplier programmes to ensure compliance with the approved project schedule, detailed execution plans, and progress monitoring systems.
Monitor suppliers’ rates of progress and performance to ensure alignment with the approved project baseline and overall project objectives.
Identify schedule slippage, develop recovery and mitigation plans, and coordinate their implementation with suppliers and relevant project teams.
Assist in reviewing and analysing supplier claims, extensions of time, and schedule-related submissions to ensure appropriate and timely responses.
Coordinate the close-out of planning and project controls activities for each project, ensuring that all records, schedules, and relevant data are accurately maintained and properly archived.
Review and understand all relevant project documentation, contractual requirements, specifications, and conditions affecting project execution.
Establish project control procedures and determine the appropriate resources required for their effective implementation.
Develop, in coordination with the Project Manager and Client, a comprehensive Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for the project.
Establish, communicate, and maintain approved cost and schedule baselines, ensuring that effective control mechanisms are implemented to monitor project performance.
Conduct regular reviews of overall project status with the Project Controls Team and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive actions where required.
Ensure that all cost, planning, scheduling, progress, and document control reports are prepared accurately and in accordance with the approved Project Control Manual.
Perform other planning and project controls duties as assigned by the Planning Manager, Project Director, or Senior Project Manager.
