Technical Engineer – Qatar Arab Contractors

The Technical Office Engineer is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and coordinating all technical aspects of the project to ensure design, drawings, and specifications are implemented accurately and efficiently. They act as a link between the site, design consultants, and management to deliver projects on time, within budget, and in compliance with standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Contracts and Agreements Management:

• Prepare, review, and interpret main contracts and subcontract agreements in accordance with project contractual terms.

• Analyze contractual clauses, identify potential risks, and propose appropriate mitigation actions.

• Prepare, manage, and follow up on claims, variation orders, and contractual correspondences.

2. Project Scheduling and Planning:

• Develop and update detailed project schedules using Primavera or MS Project.

• Monitor progress, evaluate delays, and prepare recovery and mitigation plans.

• Prepare periodic progress reports to compare actual progress against the planned schedule.

3. Subcontractors Management:

• Identify and evaluate qualified subcontractors and review their technical and financial proposals.

• Monitor subcontractors’ performance and ensure compliance with project timelines and quality standards.

• Prepare, review, and validate subcontractors’ payments and work progress statements.

4. Technical Coordination and Documentation:

• Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, and bills of quantities (BOQ).

• Ensure alignment between design documents, project specifications, and site execution.

• Coordinate with procurement, design, and site teams to ensure smooth workflow.

5. Reporting and Follow-Up:

• Prepare regular technical and administrative reports for senior management.

• Attend progress and technical coordination meetings with consultants and clients.

• Maintain organized documentation and ensure traceability of project records.
