Marine Mechanic: – MILAHA

Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Performs major and specialized mechanical overhaul and repair work on marine diesel engines (main engines & auxiliary engines) using technical manuals

• Test, repair and overhaul marine engines, hydraulic system , bow & stern thruster units.

• Operates hand and power tools associated with marine engine and equipment

• Propeller and tail shaft removing and refitting and replacing of seals.

• Writes specifications for and recommends purchase of marine engines spares

• Carry out complete overhauling of all type of engines pumps compressors, valves etc.

• Processed, labelled and secured parts of equipment. Kept area work clean prior to reassemble, ensured proper torque specification. Ensure correct parts ordered through foreman

• Work independently with instruction of Mechanical Foreman/group leader.

• Carry out overhauling of turbochargers.

• Removing, refitting hydraulic injection type couplings and propellers.

• Ensuring that all works are carried out in a safe manner and in compliance with the divisions Quality Assurance procedures and Quality Manuals.

• Ensure he has all necessary information to carry out the assigned duties.

• Diagnose, adjust, repair, or overhaul any type of diesel engines.

• Any other duties and responsibilities assigned by Management including all mechanical works.
