Linux Systems Administrator – SOS HR Solutions
A Linux Systems Administrator is responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and securing Linux-based servers and systems within an organization. The role ensures that IT infrastructure runs smoothly, efficiently, and securely to support business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems such as Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat, or Debian.
- Monitor system performance and ensure high availability and reliability of servers.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access control.
- Perform system updates, patches, and security configurations.
- Monitor server logs and troubleshoot system, network, or application issues.
- Manage file systems, storage, backups, and recovery procedures.
- Configure and maintain web servers, databases, and other application services on Linux systems.
- Implement system automation using shell scripting or tools such as Bash, Ansible, or Puppet.
- Maintain system security by applying firewalls, intrusion detection, and other security practices.
- Support virtualization and cloud platforms when required.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Collaborate with development, networking, and IT support teams to resolve technical issues.
