Barista – Fat Cup Cafe
We’re seeking a friendly, reliable Barista who can operate and maintain a range of coffee machines (automatic and manual), create matcha drinks and smoothies, and prepare light meals such as sandwiches. You’ll join a small, welcoming team and help deliver great coffee and food to our customers.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain both automatic and manual espresso machines, grinders, and related equipment.
- Brew a variety of coffee drinks (espresso, lungo, cappuccino, latte, macchiato, etc.) and adjust settings for consistency.
- Prepare high-quality matcha beverages (matcha lattes, iced matcha, etc.) and fresh smoothies.
- Assemble and customize simple sandwiches and light snacks; ensure prep area is clean and organized.
- Monitor stock levels, restock supplies, and assist with basic food safety and sanitation.
- Clean and calibrate machines regularly, report maintenance needs to supervisor.
- Follow recipes and presentation standards; provide excellent customer service.
- Keep work area tidy, organized, and compliant with health and safety guidelines.
Requirements:
- Prior barista or cafe experience preferred; ability to work a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of operating and maintaining coffee equipment (automatic and manual).
- Proficiency in making matcha drinks and smoothies.
- Basic kitchen/food prep skills; ability to prepare sandwiches.
- Strong communication, reliability, and teamwork.
- Positive attitude, punctuality, and a guest-focused mindset.
- Flexibility to work mornings, afternoons, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Food handler’s or equivalent sanitation certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain).
